The Physical Education Department at Wexham School has seven specialist teachers and some excellent facilities, including large playing fields, a floodlit 3G AstroTurf pitch, a multi-use hard court, a four-court sports hall, a large fitness suite, a dance studio, and a classroom for theory teaching.
CORE PHYSICAL EDUCATION:
Physical literacy underpins our Core Physical Education curriculum because our aim is for all young people to develop a positive relationship with movement and physical activity that will support them to be active throughout their lifespan.
Physical Education at Wexham School is about much more than being physically fit and skilled at sport. It combines five interconnected elements:

Through Physical Education, we seek to help children develop a range of life skills and attributes, including confidence, resilience, adaptability, teamwork, and leadership, all of which are very important for an individual to succeed and maximise their potential in their academic studies.
All students in Year 7 – Year 11 participate in more than two hours of Physical Education every week and, in addition to this, there is a programme of activities and clubs offered to students before school, at lunchtime and after school.
Competitive sports opportunities are plentiful with a well-established schedule of inter-house competitions plus interschool fixtures and tournaments competing against other schools in Slough and throughout Berkshire.
GCSE PE:
Students who choose to study examination PE at Key Stage 4 will follow the OCR GCSE PE specification. GCSE PE courses is taught in three additional lessons to the Core PE curriculum.
KEY STAGE 5 PHYSICAL EDUCATION:
In Years 12 and 13, students can study the Level 3 BTEC National Extended Certificate in Sport. This qualification is equivalent to one A-Level.
