Year 11 Football - Wexham VS Churchmead

You are here:

After a disappointing defeat last week against a strong Westgate team our Year 11 boys bounced back with an emphatic 10-0 win away at Churchmead School this Wednesday.

The attitude and approach of our boys was excellent and it was a fine display with some goals of real quality. The Year 11 boys have played five matches in the first half-term and won four of them which is a very good record so far.

The following match report was written by Abduljabar Yusuf (11LK):

On Wednesday 19th October 2016, Wexham year 11’s went to Churchmead School for a league football game. Successfully our boys came back with an outstanding win of 10-0. The boys played extremely well to achieve this fantastic result and there were many highlights that will be mentioned below.

The goal scorers were Aj Yusuf with 4 goals, Cameron Chickah with 2 powerful free kicks, Haider Hanif with 3 and Harmanjeet Singh with 1. All the boys played well as a team but there were 3 boys who stood out for their specific actions. Aj Yusuf with 4 goals, the coach's favourite when it was the opposition's corner and AJ intercepted, sprinted past 3 defenders from our half to go and chip the keeper.

Cameron Chickah took two free kicks just outside the box and beautifully placed both of them into the net, shocking everyone. Haider Hanif got 3 goals, the favourite goal for him was when Haider and Aj played 4 passes between them leading them into the box where Aj squared the ball which led to Haider's cool finish, a minute after Haider went to assist Aj for his 4th goal. It was beautiful football.

A well-played performance from the team, a good end result and hopefully the boys will keep bringing in more wins with future games.
