KS4 VISIT - CHARLES DICKENS MUSEUM

You are here:

On Thursday 11th January, we took 21 of our year 10 and 11 KS4 students and visited the Charles Dickens Museum.

We were guided through the Museum’s excellent collection and archives by an expert who educated us on the social and literary context around Dickens publishing A Christmas Carol. Our aim was to extend the student's knowledge around this text and push them towards greater success. During the tour we were fortunate to see Dickens' actual writing desk, and we also walked through his living quarters where we learnt about the social class in the Victorian Era. Did you know that Victorians kept hedgehogs in their kitchens for pest control?
