BTEC Level 2 - Construction
You are here:Level 2 BTEC Construction Course
We are delighted to be running a vocational qualification in Construction with a group of our Year 10 students. Funded by Slough Urban Renewal and in partnership with SATRO, these students are developing ‘real life’ skills in a wide range of areas. Exploring aspects of construction including carpentry, brick laying, painting and decorating through to aspects of project management and planning these students are having a weekly ‘hands-on’ experience of the construction industry.
Students have shown real enthusiasm and dedication to this course, often working outside in all weathers, and this term they have each crafted their own coffee table. Working both independently and in groups, students are developing personal and social skills appropriate for the workplace as well as lifelong construction skills.
These students recently attended the ‘Steel Signing’ ceremony on our new school build, a great chance to see how their developing skills could be put to use in the future.
