The Business Studies department is a successful, thriving and popular department; comprising of a Leader of Department and a further three specialist teachers
We are situated in the Sixth Form Block. All lessons take place in three dedicated classrooms. Every student is provided with hard disk storage space on the school intranet. An extensive range of resources for both subjects has been built up within the Department.
KEY STAGE 4 – Business Studies
Whilst this is a new course for students, having not studies it at KS3, it remains popular with students as they learn how to plan, manage and understand the ways in which business organisations are run. All students opting for this course follow:
GCSE Business 9-1 (1BS0) Pearson Edexcel
Students will be prepared for progression onto appropriate KS5 course options.

KEY STAGE 5
KS5 BUSINESS
At this stage, A Level Business Studies gives students the opportunity to gain a sound understanding of many business theories and concepts and how these are applied in everyday management of business and their effect on society. Students gain a critical understanding of organisations and the markets they serve. They also gain a range of transferable skills, including decision-making in the light of business information. Students will also develop the ability to interpret data presented in written and numerical forms, from which they will draw conclusions. Students opting for this course will study:

KS5 Economics
At this stage, A-Level Economics aims to help students develop an understanding of micro and macroeconomic theories and principles, and to equip them with the skills and attitudes to apply their knowledge in the real world while also critically challenging economic assumptions. They then develop awareness of how the wider economy impacts them as economic agents.
